What is Cal Grant?

Cal Grant is funded by the state of California. Cal Grant comes in the form of A, B and C.

According to the California State Aid Comission:
Cal Grant A can be used at a public, private and a few private colleges. This grant is only available to those who will be working towards a two-year or four year degree.
Cal Grant B is provided to low-income students for living expences, tuition and additional fees. To qualify for Cal Grant B your coursework must be for at least one academic year.
Cal Grant C can be used for tuition cost at occupational or technical school. The criteria to qualify are: you must be enrolled in a 4 month or longer vocational program at a California Community College, private college or technical school. The grant is available up to two years or longer depending on the program you are enrolled in.
